in order to catch/kill a fly, one must simply place their hands approximately one inch above the fly's entire body and then swiftly clap hands in a swooping motion. this motion is key, for as soon as the fly senses your presence (causing it great alarm and distress), it will fly (away) directly up into your hands and the deed is done.
